I saw an ad for Janell Bags in Down East Magazine. When I read that they were located in Newport, Maine, I decided to make the hour’s drive to the address listed in the ad. My nav said, “You have arrived at your destination.” I thought, that can’t be. All I could see was a cool, old house and barn. I decided to call the number on the website to see where I made the wrong turn. “Hello, this is Janell.” Janell is a real person! And I had arrived at her “studio”. The beautiful bags she and her talented team make are of the highest quality craftmanship. Seriously. I love handbags and own many including Kate Spade, Coach, Marc Jacobs, and Michael Kors. However, now that I do little travel for work because of Covid restrictions, I no longer need a large bag. I decided to purchase a small, cross-body bag in red. Here’s the best part: Janell had the cross-body bag in stock, but not in the red I wanted for summer. “No problem,” Janell said. “We can make you one tomorrow and ship it to you free of charge.” How’s that for exceptional customer service? My handbag arrived a few days later and it is gorgeous. The leather is soft, the stitching is precise and the interior is lined with a fun, striped fabric. I almost cannot wait to travel again for business so I can buy one of the large bags that will safely hold my laptop. Cheers to woman business owners who follow their passion! I can’t wait to turn my friends and family onto Janell bags.

I just received my new handbag and so PLEASED ! I Love the color and it’s very well made. Ordering was easy and arrived as said I can’t say enough GREAT things. I’m 67 yrs old and have bought a lot of handbags in my life 🙂

Just received my third Janell bag.. this one is a blue willow Emma bag. So pretty! Beautiful lining. Bag has pockets and a place for all my stuff!! Cross body strap is very long but adjustable. Love the “feet” on the bottom

Just received my French Rose Jenna bag – it is prettier than I thought it would be. The leather is super soft and very light weight. Can’t wait to be out sporting this beautiful bag! I received the Chelsea as a gift from my employer and I use it as my every day work bag. I am a Nurse Practitioner and this beautiful, professional-looking bag fits my laptop and all of my work items in it with ease. It is very well made and you can tell the company values quality. I just received my very first Janell bag……….. all I can say is …… I’m in love! I ordered the Chelsea in honey, what a beautiful bag, I love a great tote bag, but by far nothing compares to this one! Fist off love the leather, it’s so soft and beautiful, the quality is amazing. I love how roomy it is, I love that I don’t have to fish for things, everything is visible when you open the bag. The lining is an absolute Stunning addition to this gorgeous bag, and carrying the bag is very comfortable, it fits beautiful under my arm!!! So Worth the money and wait!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I just received my new Mahogany Lizzie, Jenna and Ava and I am in love!! What gorgeous bags!! I’m probably going to come back for more of the Mahogany! Truth be told though, these bags take my total purchases to over 20 bags now (I’ve actually lost exact count). I have a smorgasbord of all the different kinds of leather and they are all wonderful! Leather aside, the construction and handiwork on these bags are unmatched to any designer bag I’ve ever owned. I donated all of my designer bags and all I will carry now is Janell!! I will NEVER carry anything else! I’m pretty sure I could open my own Janell bag store now lol! If you’re on the fence about buying one, don’t even think twice! It’s a purchase you will never regret!

I bought 2 purses, one honey and one mahogany Jenna. I absolutely love both of them! The craftsmanship is stupendous! I am a buy American first, and it is hard to find a leather purse. I assure that you won’t be disappointed.

I LOVE my Ashley in cappuccino !! Initially I was hesitant to order it because I thought it was too small , but when it arrived I absolutely fell in love! It is the perfect size and I love the color. The lining with the pockets is beautiful. It is perfect and I couldn’t be more pleased! Such high quality craftsmanship-would definitely buy again!

I am totally in love! Oh my word! The Lavender Smoke Lizzie had to come home with me! I love the color, that it fits all the facets of my life in a totable package ( errands, meetings, parenting, and church) AND it stands up on it’s own!
